Who You Share It With

From its 19th-century origins to its modern-day impact in Southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina, the YMCA has always been more than a building; it’s a community where lives are transformed. Who You Share It With follows the people who made the Y’s growth possible for the local community for the last 35 years and those who now experience its programs firsthand: children finding belonging, adults reclaiming strength and confidence, and volunteers creating opportunities for others to thrive. Through personal stories, historical milestones, and moments of joy and resilience, the film shows that the true power of the Y lies not in its facilities, but in the connections and shared experiences that shape lives and communities.
