After eight years of "voluntary" exile, I return to my hometown. The sun is blinding. I lock myself away in the family album. The hushed atmosphere of the young Republic, covered with the unsaid and the unseen... Deportations, expulsions of minorities, "militarization" through "First Ladies" galas, fashionable "fascism." I go back to my first studio portrait, then relapse. That eye bursts! I ask my mother to film this eye of her minority son. It's his first eye in cinema! A touch, an encounter with reality.
