Day of the Catch

Based on a true story, Day of the Catch is a silent comedy set during the Brooklyn Robins' 1915 spring training in Florida. The film follows a young Casey Stengel as he unwittingly becomes part of a practical joke involving a grapefruit, a biplane, and an unsuspecting manager. The first film adaptation of this legendary baseball tale, Day of the Catch brings one of the game's most enduring stories to the screen through the style of classic silent cinema.
