Time Amongst Olive Trees

About this title

What begins as a simple exploration of the olive oil production process becomes a poetic meditation on belonging, the passage of time, and the fragile future of rural traditions. The filmmaker returns to her Andalusian roots to portray the lives of olive growers in a small village, both a decade ago and in the present day. Through a contemplative rhythm, the austere beauty of the landscape, and the emotive piano music of Dorantes, the film sheds light on some of the most pressing challenges of the contemporary world: climate change, the agricultural crisis, migration, and rural depopulation
