About this title

A documentary that follows Otome game players in China who transform parasocial digital romances into real-life performances, enacting and unraveling heterosexuality. Through scripted intimacy, love emerges as a constructed yet deeply felt illusion, revealing a form of femininity that becomes unstable through its own awareness of the roles it performs.
