Butterfly Lovers

About this title

The puppet show actress Mengdie lost her cross-dressing role to actor Xiaozhi in rehearsing “Butterfly Lovers” and was cast as a candidate for the female character. In the realm of “harmony between the figure and the puppet” and the transformation of life roles, Mengdie and Xiaozhi have dispelled their estrangement from each other and experienced a tortuous change from gender to spirituality.
