Bacha Bandhan

About this title

Bacha Bandhan ("Bounded by Promise") is a heartfelt, culturally rich Nepali Gurung-language film set in the serene, rustic village of Sikles. The story follows Gore and Kasi, two villagers who seal their commitment to one another by taking a sacred vow before the local deity. Their peaceful life and romance face a major turning point when Gore is tempted by the financial promises of foreign employment—a systemic reality mirroring many real-world indigenous Nepali youths. The film is highly celebrated for its authentic portrayal of indigenous Gurung customs, community interactions, and traditional farming lifestyles.
