The decision is made: next winter, Maina will no longer be a landless shepherdess. No longer a nomad, no longer constantly on the lookout for a new home, no longer able to manage her land as she sees fit. Maina is settling down, determined to anchor herself in the land of her birth and to follow through on her convictions.
